This panel was designed for the 40cm² exhibition of members of the British Society for Master Glass Painters. Rachel wanted to use the heraldic Griffin, but wanted to create a modern alternative to the traditional profile image and put movement into the image.

A mixture of antique and machine glass was chosen along with a flashed piece which was acid etched to create the moon. As well as using kiln fired paint, enamels and stains, reverse gilding with silver leaf was applied to the wings and engraved to create the detail of the feathers.
